Welcome to our new website! Like most horse people, we’ve been keeping so busy riding, training and teaching that upgrading the site took a backseat for a while. But here it is at last!

We hope you’ll get an idea here who we are and what we’re all about. In a nutshell, Cottonwood Riding Club is a friendly, family-run equine facility that’s home to a wide variety of horses and their people. Nestled at the foot of the Rockies, our glorious 100 acres offer ample space for a wide variety of riding disciplines—from Western pleasure to dressage, eventing and polo.

The people who make Cottonwood their riding home want a large, professional facility with high standards that isn’t stuck on being showy. They’re out to have fun and enjoy life even while they learn and improve, and they’re not about judging others.

At Cottonwood, we are classy but not snobby. The people here create a cordial, open atmosphere that makes everyone feel at ease. It’s where good ole laid back cowboy hospitality meets high-level showing flair. In other words, we all take horseback riding, training and learning seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously.

These days horseback riding is often viewed as the domain of rich folks. And let’s be honest, horses are expensive and take up a lot of time. (We know that better than anyone. If you don’t believe us, come to our office. A sign hangs on the wall there that states the honest truth: “Equus Keepus Brokus.”)

But in all seriousness, we can’t imagine life without horses. The beauty and grace of the equine is unmatched on earth. And horses have been part of our family for many years.

Cottonwood is a family in many ways. It’s run by second generation of the Gandomcar family, who built it from the ground up 35 years ago, and the youngsters of the third generation are budding horse people, too. But it’s also an extended family for many of the people who ride here—a place they feel right at home. And we want to keep it that way.

Rather than buying into the notion that riding is “a rich man’s sport,” we want to offer anyone who wants to ride the opportunity to do so—and do it well—without becoming “brokus.” So we keep our prices reasonable and our door open.

Hopefully this site helps you get to know us a little. But of course a website can only go so far, and we’d love to meet you in person. C’mon down and see Cottonwood for yourself!
